Huawei

Traditionally, Huawei and their customized Android skin called EMUI has had one of the most restrictive background processing limitations. On default settings, background processing does not work right and apps working in background stop working. A possible workaround is to disable battery optimization. So if you have a Huawei phone, follow the steps below to let the Avicenna app run properly in the background.

Android 10, 11, and 12

  • Go to Settings -> Apps -> Apps
  • Tap on the three dots at the top of the screen and then on Special access

This can get in the way of the Avicenna app working properly in the background. That’s why, we recommend that you follow the instructions below and disable battery optimization on your Pixel device.

Android 11

There are 2 main settings to check on Pixel phones running android 11.

  1. Battery Optimization settings

Android 12

  • Open Settings -> Apps
  • Find and click on the Avicenna app

Sony

Sony devices have their own unique feature called Stamina Mode. This mode, when enabled, prevents all the background processes to save battery consumption. To deactivate the Stamina Mode for the Avicenna app to work properly,

  • Select Advanced -> Special app access -> Power saving feature
  • Find the Avicenna app and switch to Excepted.
